Floor sawing is used when horizontal or near horizontal surfaces need to be cut. Also called slab sawing, or concrete floor cutting there are a number of different concrete floor saw machines. These generally fit into two categories
Electric Concrete Floor Saws – suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Low/No emissions. Low-dust, and low-noise and range from 0 – 300mm cutting depth. Narrow enough to fit through most standard doorways.
Petrol Concrete Floor Saws – higher power, with a deeper cutting depth up to 700mm. Best suited for outdoor applications or well-ventilated indoor use cases.
Cutting requirements can be varied and typically include:
- Openings for ducts.
- Expansion joints.
- Openings for elevators, stair wells and floor openings.
- Cosmetic floor sawing.
- Trenching for conduits, plumbing, electrical and security services
- Suspended slab cutting inside buildings.
- Demolition, removal and alteration of existing slabs
- Bitumen cutting for neat edges before or after excavations.
